Not really sure there, I haven't used Ubuntu so I don't know how they
have set everything up.

Seems a bit weird, I've got quite a few more files there:
$ ls /usr/lib/libvorbis*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 Apr 15 2015 /usr/lib/libvorbis.so -> libvorbis.so.0.4.8
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 Apr 15 2015 /usr/lib/libvorbis.so.0 -> libvorbis.so.0.4.8
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 179K Apr 15 2015 /usr/lib/libvorbis.so.0.4.8
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 Apr 15 2015 /usr/lib/libvorbisenc.so -> libvorbisenc.so.2.0.11
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 Apr 15 2015 /usr/lib/libvorbisenc.so.2 -> libvorbisenc.so.2.0.11
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 715K Apr 15 2015 /usr/lib/libvorbisenc.so.2.0.11
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 Apr 15 2015 /usr/lib/libvorbisfile.so -> libvorbisfile.so.3.3.7
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 Apr 15 2015 /usr/lib/libvorbisfile.so.3 -> libvorbisfile.so.3.3.7
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 35K Apr 15 2015 /usr/lib/libvorbisfile.so.3.3.7

Ok well that at least establishes that it's not a libvorbis issue (at
least with the XMMS2 version you have installed - you might still run
into issues recompiling XMMS2 if it expects a newer version.)

That was a good idea. That seems to narrow it down to the streaming
rather than the file format.

No worries. Maybe we should continue this on the XMMS2 list, since
it's not really related to GKrellM anymore. I see you posted a message
there this morning, let's continue there to give the GKrellM people a
break :)

I have no idea, but I get the same error and everything works fine for
me. XMMS2 can use TCP for IPC as well, so perhaps it falls back to TCP
if the unix socket isn't working?
Cheers,
Adam.
